Beatrice cardigan by Önling, knitting pattern

Knitting pattern for Beatrice long, cozy cardigan with smock pattern at hem, sleeves and pockets.

Beatrice is made in a combination of Isager Alpaca 1, Alpaca 2 and Silk Mohair, knitted with one strand of each throughout. This gives a warm and soft cardigan, knitted at a large needle size. Beatrice can also be knitted in our soft and sustainable Önling No 2 merino wool.

(Silk Mohair can be any of our 3 brands, our own Önling No 10, Brushed Lace from Mohair by Canard or Silk Mohair from Isager.)
One strand of each yarn are held together throughout.

Recommended circular needle and double-pointed needles size 5,5 mm, 6mm and 7mm / US9, US10, US10½-11.

Gauge:
18 sts and 16 garter ridges (32 rows) in garter stitch on a 5,5 mm / US9 = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches.
18 sts and 24 rows in the in rib with smock pattern on a 7 mm / US10½-11 = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches.

Directions:
The cardigan is worked from the bottom up. The body is worked back and forth to the armholes. Then the work is split into fronts and back and each part is finished separately.The sleeves are worked back and forth from the bottom up.
NOTE: When used the cardigan will expand by 5-7cm /2-3 inches in length, adjust for this when knitting so you end up with your desired length.
